Q: Back pain or other?

Having bad back pain, which I know is common in pregnancy. But, it's especially worse on my left back side closer to the flank rather than the spine. It hurts even to the touch during resting and gets worse with lots of walking. This has begun earlier this week. I'm worried it potentially could be an upper UTI but currently OB and clinics are closed at this hour. Planning on paying a visit to the regular clinic tomorrow morning, but just in case has anyone else had this type of pain with it being nothing? I really hate fussing over nothing, but it feels a bit different compared to normal pain. Also, I don't know if it helps, but I have osteoarthritis in both hips, slightly worse in the left. It may be a factor too. I worked long hours this whole weekend which made it way worse and my job is constantly on my feet.
Thoughts? Not having any pain peeing either. I've had UTIs before, always with burning with small frequent amounts of pee.

I had this early on in pregnancy and it went away after a week or two (I have spina bifida also, so I think with everything going on in our bodies anyway it can definitely aggravate other conditions) I found one of the maternity support belts helped a lot, and a hot water bottle! Try not to worry too much, I'm sure its your body adjusting to everything. Hope you're doing well mamma!

@squishmich this isn't in the lumbar region of my spine, it's not in the bone. I'm feeling the pain in the soft part of my flank. That's why I'm a bit concerned

I've had lower back pain around my tailbone since 3 DPO. It hasn't left me! I find it's usually worse at night, when I'm resting from the day. I'm due to visit Dr in two days, and I plan on asking him what I can do to alleviate. I read somewhere that the increase in hormones is causing your joints to loosen and separate, to prepare for baby - which makes sense but at this early stage? Hang in there!

@Papas~Mama you know, I just looked that one up, I have been having sore legs and hips as well. But, I just had a chiro appointment on Thursday and my lower spine was great and didn't need much adjustment (it's been my neck giving me issues). Is this pain normal in the early first trimester? I'm only 7 weeks 6 days.

Maybe some icy-hot rub would help. If so, then it may very well be something more musclular-skeletal

Thanks! I'll see what the doctor thinks

Sounds possibly like sciatica(sp?) I've been having the same problem for over a month now, especially at and after work when I've been running all day. Bad back pain. Still though, if you think something else could be wrong, always best to call your doctor or go in and see somebody. Hope you feel better!
