Also just noticed the family connections, if the twins are fraternal and from your mothers side, you would be at a slightly increase chance of having twins, but if they are identical then no increased likelihood or from the fathers side too (but I am not sure I completely agree with that one but it's what they say) :)

most people with twins report more extreme symptoms but not all, and some women just experience stronger symptoms of pregnancy no matter how many are in there, some studies say that women who have stronger PMS symptoms tend to have stronger pregnancy symptoms because their bodies are more hormonally sensitive, and that is a factor in both situations. I have much stronger symptoms this time than with my previous two successful pregnancies, but still not what I would consider particularly strong compared to other women I know. My ultrasound shows only one baby, though my four year old claims I have a baby brother and sister in there haha :) However twins or not, CONGRATS!! and good luck and best wishes for a healthy pregnancy :)

Hello and congrats on your pregnancy!! Just my opinion- not sure of the truth behind it- coming from someone who has been preggers 3 times, first 2 were singletons and now expecting twins I can say that I felt MUCH stronger symptoms and more of them with the twin pregnancy. I didn't experience much of any symptoms the first 2 times around and this time I was nauseous at 8DPO and my first BFP was on 8-9 DPO. Then came the boobs and nipple sensitivity, the headaches and the vivid dreams and poor sleep. I never had HCG tests the first 2 times, but this time my levels seemed high to me but were actually normal when compared to others. My levels were however within the twin ranges on http://www.betabase.info. Went for ultrasound at 8wks and said to DOC "please tell me only 1 baby?" He was puzzled at first but sure enough there were 2!! Now 29wks and still cooking both! Again, CONGRATS TO YOU!! Keep us posted.
