Q: Is almost 7 weeks pregnant too soon to tell friends/

I'm going to be 6 weeks pregnant on Thursday and my first prenatal visit is Friday. My husband and I were thinking about doing a cute announement on Valentine's Day which I will be 6 weeks and 5 days preggers. I am hoping to hear the heartbeat on Friday otherwise I'm not sure if I will feel comfortable breaking the news. We've told our family but no friends so far....I am ready to let the cat out of the bag but I don't want to end up regretting it! Any advice?

I mis carried at 6 weeks with my last pregnancy and with my daughter before that i told everyone at 12 weeks mainly because i was 17 and i knew my mum would kill me even though it was planned. This time i am nw 7 weeks and my family knows because they new i mc and a few friends who also new i mc and my boss mainly everyone who knew i mc last time know now. I still ahvent posted it on facebook or told the world and wont untill 12 weeks but i liked having support. I didnt want to wait till 12 weeks again because its nice to talk to people about it now and have my mum involved.

Well if this is any help most women wait until the hear/see a heartbeat for the first time and some wait until the first tri ends when the risk of miscarriage is low. I told everyone after my first ultasound when i saw him and his hb @ 9 weeks.

I m/c with my first at 13 weeks and I think with my son we waited till I was about 9-10 weeks to tell people(my husband had a big mouth) this time I'm 7 weeks and 1 day today and I told my boss when I found out (he told everyone at work) my big sister who is also my BF a week after I found out, and my husband blabbed to a couple people in the past week(did I mention he has a big mouth lol) I plan on telling everyone else closer to 13 weeks but we'll see how long the husband and I can keep our mouths shut

I am currently 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant and I have my first ultrasound on 2/13/12. If we see a heartbeat then I plan on telling close family and a few friends that know we are trying on Valentines day. This will be 7 weeks and 2 days. But I am not going to tell co-workers or many friends until first tri ends.

Hi.. I figure tell who ever you'd want for support if the slight chance you miscarried. I told family and a couple of close friends at your stage too, but ended up miscarrying after seeing the heartbeat at 9 weeks.. Thankfully those people that knew were there for me.

wait until there is a heartbeat either seen or heard. The risk of miscarriage gets much smaller after that.

uhm yeah I had wanted to wait to at least confirm a heartbeat on u/s and all but as soon as it was confirmed by blood test my husband was so excited he posted it all over facebook. So it was not really up to me at that point.. everyone knew right away. The way I look at it is.. if i m/c which I will not because I have faith I will not from God's promise... then yeah it will be hard to tell everyone but at least i will have the support and extra prayers that i will need. There is no way my husband can keep a secret... in order for him to keep a secret he would have to not know and that.. would be down right impossible. lol..
