Q: Final preparations and car capsual fitted

Hi ladies at what week did you have everything completely ready to go ?
ie: car capsual fitted, bags ready for the car, and final things unpacked ready for when Bub comes home as in I'll be having a swing and portacot set up down stairs in our lounge/living area and the bassinet will go in our room. Just wondering at what week you ladies things all these little last minute things should be done. Do you think about early labour and not having the energy right towards the end to do these important things. I am 34 weeks and possibly being induced at 38 due to GD. Thanks ladies. X

I think I had all my stuff together and ready by week 37/38. My child didn't end up coming until 41 wks but I felt calm knowing I have everything washed and packed and ready to go. It's a nice feeling to have it planned, so don't worry about it being too early! :) My friends' baby came 5 weeks early! So you never know when that little bundle is going to make an appearance! If you've feeling like doing it now, I say do it! It will be one less thing to have to worry about down the road!

For the first I had these things done by 37 weeks. For my second ... well, I'm still working on that list (probably started working on the list at 37 weeks this time) and I'll be 39 weeks tomorrow. I think the only thing that I couldn't do without is fixing the car seat. But because we are using the same car seat we did for our older child, we just have to re-install it backward and tighten up the straps, so honestly we could really do that at the hospital if necessary. We have the toddler seat installed and the older child is using it already, we just haven't bothered to turn around the convertible seat for the new baby yet.
