I had a bleed at 6 weeks - red blood - about a teaspoon or two. Thought it was the end, but there was no cramping and the bleeding stopped as soon as it started. My doctor put me on bedrest until I had an early scan nearly a week later. I was at higher risk of ectopic pregnancy due to endometriosis and IVF. Happily, all was fine. If you have any doubts, contact your doctor. I've had no other spotting or bleeding at all. (Now 17 weeks.)

spotting is normal in early pregnancy if it is light and without cramps
the embryo is burrowing into the uterine lining, blood probably accumulates overnight so you see it in the morning
nothing to be concerned with
