Zivon Dorean's Birth Story

So everyone who read my journal on the 5th knew that my swelling had gotten out of control and I was really sore. Well after making the post I started to get a really bad headache so I decided I needed to take my blood pressure. It was 168/98 which is high for me so I called OB and he told me to report to labor and delivery as it was after hours.

I ended up getting tested again and blood pressure kept rising and blood platelets were dropping so OB stated we would be delivering baby soon. As in the next 40 mintues! I didnt have my bags or anyone there with my daughter and they stated if blood platelets were under 100 the id have to be put to sleep and DH wouldnt be allowed back. They came back at 96 and I started to freak out but anesthesiologist said he would do the epidural.

I was told to dress. DH aunt arrived at the same time that they called that they were ready for us. DH came back after 15 mins and Zivon came literally within the next 15 minutes. He was crying and I started crying then they said he was small and that I was to see him quickly. Then they checked him out wrapped him went to where the family was and my daughter started yelling thats my brother! (My DH told me this when he came back) I was removed from him for 6 hours as he was in Level 2 NICU. He had a hard time regulating his breaths and temperature.

He has since been moved to regular nursery and I have had to supplement with bottle milk as he is still so small and in premature clothing. I am still trying to get him to breastfeed and we've been successful with him latching but he has some confusion.

The hospital staff have been amazing! This experience has truly taken me on a roller coaster ride. I have had a hard time healing but I am moving on my own now. My daughter has immediately became the best big sister ever. We are waiting to go home and my sister will be here tomorrow to give me some much needed help.

My doctor has yet to pop a finger up there so Idk if I'm dilated or not, prob not tho, I'm not that lucky lol!! My bump is slowly sinking, her lil bum sits a cpl inches above my belly button today and I can def notice some extra weight on my pubic bone. Lemme know how ur appt goes today (I'm not back in til Wed), maybe we can both score some early-ish babies...that'd be awesome!! =))

	Comment from Bammom » Posted May. 24, 2014 8:38am I feel very unprepared! Logically, I know the baby will have everything they need, but the room is still fairly undone and that makes me antsy. The only thing that calms me down is remembering that the baby won't even use their room for a couple of months. I think the worst part of the drive to the hospital will be that one of the streets is a lumpy, bumpy, pothole riddled mess! It's going to be bad while I'm having contractions! Lol! I'll feel better after the baby is born and I can finally plan a baby shower and get the pink or blue clothes/ decor and get everything put together. We are almost there!! I'm way more excited than nervous right now. How about you?
