Mathew Joseph Nixon's Birth Story

I've had cramping and contractions that started on Sunday January 17th. I've made a couple of emergency appointments with my Ob that week. Woke up at 3:30 am on January 26 with contractions that were finally timable. As soon as my docs office opened, I called to get checked again in which they told me to come in right away. Got there and my doc checked me as I was also having a strong contraction. He told me I was 3.5 cm dialated and to head over to L&D at the hospital. We get there and the nurses prepped me and the process continued. That was at 10 am. Doc checked me at 11 am in which I was already at 6 cm. At that point she popped the membrane and in which I asked for an epidural which ended up being a full epidural (wasn't expecting that). At 3 pm Doc came in cause baby's heart rate began to drop, which she explained that happens when baby is there ready for me to push. Sure enough I was at 10 cm and I couldn't feel a thing... how the heck am I going to push if I can't feel anything? During the pushing process my nurse had me cracking up by telling me some wacky birthing stories and I lost my push a few times because she had me cracking up! Alas, 16 mins of pushing and out came my Miracle. MY BLESSING was finally here! Wow, what a set of lungs. My doc puts him on my chest and he quickly quiets down. I looked down at him and we locked eyes and I was relieved . I'm so in love. Born at 3:16 pm , 6lbs13oz. Perfect in every way.

Hi there! I just read the comment you left on my journal entry, and I wanted to stop by your page and leave you some love :)

I have got to say, after reading over your page, I was in tears. Your story is heartbreaking :( I am so, so sorry for the loss of your precious son. I am so happy for you, that you were able to conceive again and on the first cycle - that's incredible! I will send prayers up as often as I can think to for you. Even though we don't know each other in 'real life', I think we as moms who have been through some struggle have something special in common. Though my situation has been different in it's own regard. Here's to a happy, healthy, and safe 9 months - and before you know it, I have faith that you will be holding your sweet baby in your arms - and all will be well and right within your world. God Bless you and your pregnancy!

Thinking of you as well. We're waiting till Mid October cycle to start trying again, but fingers crossed, I can start this process before Christmas. I completely agree with your plan above and it looks just like what I'll be asking for - NSTs starting at 28wks, ultrasounds often and induction at 39 wks or sooner based on size. How are you feeling? This whole process of a Rainbow baby has to be both terrifying and wonderful. I know what I anticipate it, that's what I feel. HUGS!!
