Layla's Birth Story

I started having contractions a few days before which were only happening in my lower region. I have a friend who is a midwife. I called her on a Saturday morning and told her what was going on. We decided to go to the hospital just to get checked out and it turned out I was 4 centimeters dilated, and my bag was bulging! Doctor came in and broke my water, and it went on from there! I lasted till 9 1/2 centimeters without an epidural (I gave in at the last minute)..and I am thankful I did because the baby got stuck!! They ended up having to use the vacuum, after 2 hours of pushing! Finally when I delivered her, she wasnt crying. They took her immediately away from me. She was in shock. It was scary!! But finally she started breathing well and was acting normal. I'm so thankful for my little one!!

The ultrasound tech & the Doctor wouldn't give us a guess at their genders, but I'm pretty sure there is one of each in there! Guess we'll see at the 20 week scan in April :)
