Oliver Jace 's Birth Story
My water broke at 2am on 7/13 and made it to the hospital at 3am. I was 3cm dilated and 70% effaced in triage upon arrival. I was checked again at 6am and was 6.5cm dilated and 80% effaced and -1 station. At 9am I was only 7cm dilated and 100% effaced and -1 station. 10am came with no change, 11am came with no change so they started me on pitocin. Once that started I requested an epidural because I know how my contractions are with pitocin. The epidural worked very well. I didn't feel anything, even when he was starting to crown which was when the nurses checked me again at 1pm to see if I had made any progress. We waited for the Dr to come and I "pushed" for 1 contraction and my chunky boy was here. I had a slight tear which required 2 stitches. He was born with his cord tightly wrapped around his neck twice. He has some bruising on his face and some red marks around his neck but he is perfect and such a mamas boy!
