Richard Anthony McCormick, III's Birth Story

At 33 weeks, 4 days, I woke up at 4 AM after feeling a gush of fluid. Thought maybe I peed myself. Turns out my water had broken. I was admitted to my local hospital and was then transferred to the best childrens hospital in the area due to the fact that no matter what, he would be coming early. The hopsital I was transferred to has one of the top rated NICUs in the state. Everything was a blur and was moving so fast, and I was terrified. After having spent 3 days in the hospital, I found meconium in the fluid which kept leaking out. The doctors prepared me for an emergency c-section. I was absolutely panicking, terrified, and afraid of the unknown. I was scared because of having to have surgery, and also, because I wanted my baby to be okay. All in all, I almost died during surgery....but I lived and made it through. My baby boy is doing great, and is now a level 2 NICU baby. The only thing holding him back from coming home is bradycardia, or low dips in his heart rate. The doctors seem to think its simply becauae of prematurity, and that one or two more weeks in the NICU will fix it as he grows and matures. I am worried every day and have been facing severe depression becauae of the seperation from my beautiful boy, but I am trying hard to hold onto hope that he will be okay and home in my arms very aoon.

pbc910 - that's awesome though! I really admire twin moms. I don't know how you do it! I suppose you just take one day at a time. What a special blessing though! I hope everything is still going well for you xox

Hi lala! How have you been, girlie? I am doing awesome. What happened to you on Preggie? I know I saw you over there - at least, I think I did :/ Are you still on the app? How are you doing?
