One more week....then it's stripping time!

At my doctors appointment today she confirmed I am 2cm and 80% effaced, baby weighs around 8 pounds and she asked if I'd like my membranes stripped to get labor started. I said no.....BUT.....if I was still pregnant by next Thursday we could do a membrane sweep. I'd prefer NOT to have a huge baby being a small framed woman....and if this baby is ready, he's ready! I'm not opposed to a little natural intervention (membrane sweep) but did refuse any medicine (Pitocin). So....looks like our baby will either be here by next Thursday without the sweep (please please fingers crossed!) or maybe by next weekend with a sweep.

Did you ever think you'd be living the day when you were TRYING to go into labor with this pregnancy? :) I hope you go on your own too -- better get started on all those old wives tales that are supposed to help induce labor this weekend. ;-) |
