17w - Maybe feeling a few flutters?

Today I am 17 weeks! Wooo! Time is passing quite quickly I will say. In three weeks we will find out if there is a little gal or guy on board and I CANNOT wait to find out. Eeeee. I really have no idea. Part of me thinks boy and part of me thinks girl. I kind of hope it's a girl for two reasons - practicality (we have a TON of girl clothes and wouldn't really need to buy much except for stuff that seasons didn't really match) and also because I feel like I am a "girl mom" and am really not sure what the heck I would do with a boy! LOL. On the other hand though, I think it would be great to have a little boy and would be SO happy if it was a boy. So we shall see!

There have been a few times I feel like I have felt some light flutters, but nothing solid like a kick or anything to know for sure. I did find out that I have yet another anterior placenta so am prepared for it to take longer before I really feel movement. With Elle I didn't feel anything until 20 weeks... but I hope it is earlier this time! I love feeling baby movements and it also puts my mind at ease that everything is going ok in there. :)

My immune system is still being a diva. I am hooked up to an IV as I type this getting another double infusion. My numbers just keep climbing, which isn't great. My immunologist thinks that it is because my placenta is kicking in and producing more of the estrogen and progesterone that it should be now (it's been a little slow to take off... also common in women with immune problems like me) and when there is an uptick in hormone production it can cause an immune flare. I am SO hoping that is why and that my body will calm down soon. Hopefully this week I can start weaning off the rest of my hormone medications since the placenta is doing more work now. I am sooooo ready to be done with the patches I have to wear on my stomach. Removing adhive goo every other day is not fun and now that it is hot out I especially hate them!

Overall though I am feeling really great! If it wasn't for this bump that is forming I honestly wouldn't know I was pregnant. I had to suck it up and buy some summer maternity clothes this week. My shirts were starting to get short and the bottoms that fit were becoming sparse. Unfortunately, all my maternity clothes from last time were for winter. Bummer!

I booked our family/maternity photo session for early October and also made sure our doula was available for a late November delivery. We are good to go!!

I really need to post a bump pic on here! We take the pics on our real camera and I always remember when I am writing a journal entry, which is usually during a break at work and not when I'm at home so I never have our camera with me!!

This weekend we are going camping with two of my friends from college and their families. There will be three 1 year old girls, a 3 year old boy, a 4 year old boy, and a 6 year old boy. Wish us luck!!! Hopefully everything goes ok. We've never taken Elle camping before so NO clue how she will do.

Oh my gosh, 17 weeks already?! Actually 18, I just realized his was from a week ago! I hope the immune stuff calms down a bit now that the placenta is pulling its weight, I can't wait to find out what you're having!!

Hey, I just noticed your due date is the same a mine! I also thought I felt some flutters last night when I woke up at 3am but to be honest I have no idea if that is how a baby feels as this is my first! Anyway I guess it will get more obvious as things progress! I also would prefer a girl I think, but considering it took me about a year to conceive I am just grateful to be pregnant and a lil boy would also be just fine! Hubby is convinced it is a girl. Anyway will wait and see! My 20 week ultrasound scan is on 13th of July. Looking forward to it! Good luck to you and hope your camping trip is fun! :)

Little boys are great! I love having one of each but totally get how practical it would be to have 2 girls. Even if you have a boy, you can still get away with sharing things. I put Fiona in her brother's PJs last night because I couldn't find her clean ones. Sure, they have their own outfits but I have a huge stock of clothes they both wear and they share everything else...spoons, pacifiers, bottles, etc. It actually will be advantageous in any case because your kiddos will be close in age and a lot of stuff can be used or passed down. Hope you have a great trip. I really want to go camping with the twins but not sure how that would work. Maybe in the fall when it's cooler and they are almost a year old.

Wahoo! Your pregnancy is really flying! I was just wondering how you were doing - glad to hear all is going well (except for that diva immune system!). Hopefully, your immune system calms down soon! I will be waiting anxiously to find out what you're having...lol since I haven't found out what I am having. I need to live vicariously through someone ;) I know what you mean though, I don't have a great sense either way about what I am having. Part of me would LOVE to have another girl for the same reasons you listed but then the other part of me would love to have a boy so I have one of each. I feel like the next three weeks will drag ;) Keep us updated!!!
