CMV and Toxoplasmosis results
By ericalee » Posted Aug. 22, 2016 3:57pm - 366 views - 7 comments

After waiting a few days for my lab results, I FINALLY got a call at 445p on Friday from my OB's office (after multiple false alarm heart attacks when my phone would ring and it wasn't them). I was changing Elle's diaper and my husband came upstairs with my phone in his hand and said "It's Dr. B's office.. I thought you'd want to talk to them". He had already answered so I took the phone and my heartrate shot up immediately.

It was one of the nurses and she said my tests came back showing immunity to both CMV and Toxoplasmosis, meaning that I have been exposed to both in the past. Then came the great news -- the second part of both lab results showed no current infection for either. WOO HOO!!!!

So that should be two checkmarks off the list of "what could possibly cause echogenic bowel". We're now at 99% nothing being "wrong". Oh happy day!! I can now stop googling all of the things that CMV and toxo can cause when a baby is infected with it in the womb. Not sure what I'll do with all of this extra time! ;)
