So sick!

Friday night I got absolutely no sleep (tossed and turned until 1:30, then slept in 45 minute stretches broken by bouts of vomiting until 6, when I finally woke up). Needless to say, I was not looking forward to driving to Chicago (2.5 hours without traffic and a grumpy toddler, closer to 3.5 hours in the car when you factor those in to spend the weekend with my less than welcoming inlaws (things were less horrible than I feared on that front since my brother in law was able to be there all weekend, so I wasn't the only non-Chinese speaker left to fend for myself). I think everyone was grumpy that I wasn't up to doing 10 million things, but with no sleep and no food in me, it wasn't happening. I think it's a bug and not morning sickness, though I think that isn't helping, because every single muscle in my body aches like I've been stomped on by very fat horses. I had a cold a week ago that I thought was over, but appearantly it's just decided to manifest somewhere other than my nose because my eyes are crusty (attractive!) and I have neon green snot running down the back of my throat... cue sore throat from hell. The hotel didn't have a bathtub or a lock on the sliding bathroom door, so Max had to take a shower with me and decided to shut the heavy door on his foot so now my little dude is limping. And we did a hack job packing so I somehow managed to not pack any underwear, just to ice the damn cake!
I don't think I need to say it's been a trying weekend, I will be very glad to be home in my own bed with a big hot cup of tea and possibly a soak in the tub, door locked!

The cold has migrated to my chest now, so horrid coughing abounds, but for me that usually means we're on the tail end of things and should clear up within the next few days. It's just been a long couple of weeks with this cold from hell, especially when there's so little I can take. Fingers crossed that we're on the back side foot now, I've got 3 weeks to get super healthy before we leave for Oklahoma! |
 | Comment from CrystalB88 » Posted Jul. 23, 2015 10:03am So sorry about your horrible weekend :-( I had a bad stomach bug when I was 5 or 6 weeks pregnant and feared it was morning sickness, but it sure wasn't and it was terrible. I was lucky I didn't have to go anywhere and had my wonderful mother in law to watch my son for me during the day, so for you to have to endure all that on top if it must have been so miserable. I hope you got that soak and are feeling better now!!!! |
