Doctor's Appt Today!
By mrsamanda » Posted May. 7, 2014 6:37pm - 275 views - 7 comments

We are now on the every 2 week appointment schedule! Crazy! I can't believe it, really. Kinda crazy! Anyways, my urine and BP checked out. I've also only gained 4 pounds!! Another thing I can't believe I've managed. I really haven't tried, either. They did another u/s today because apparently I've been measuring big (tape measure measurements), so they wanted to check on her. She is measuring just perfectly though. Right around 29 weeks like she should be, as I will be 29 weeks tomorrow! She is head down, in the 32nd percentile with her size, and weighs about 2 pounds 13 ounces as of right now.

I told the doc I was due for my yearly Pap Smear and he said we could go ahead and do it today, so we did. He said he was glad we did, because it gave him a chance to check my pelvis. (Normally, he wouldn't start checking me until 36 weeks.) It made me bleed a little, so that is not the most comforting sight, but it seems to be letting up now. Looks like we will 99% sure be doing a scheduled c-section. He says my pelvis is EXTREMELY narrow. Practically like a funnel down there. (TMI: Does this have anything to do with the ability to achieve a g-spot O, I wonder?) Anyways, he says he is willing to try for a vaginal birth, but his "gray-headed experience" is telling me to not expect it to happen, even if baby was in the 10th or 20th percentile. It's just probably not going to happen. So, he says anywhere from July 17th to July 24th on my due date is okay to schedule the delivery! I guess I'm okay with a c-section. It kinda takes all the guesswork out of "Is today going to be the day?" and such. I just hope all these ladies I know who have had c-sections are right, and that the recovery is super fast and easy. I've heard both ends of the spectrum, just hoping since everything else has gone so well in this pregnancy, that the c-section won't be any different.

Atleast my mom will be here for a month and a half after baby comes to help. She is scheduled to fly in on July 12th and leaves back out on August 25th. So, that's exciting! I can't wait for her to get here. We are thinking about July 18th for delivery. DH's uncle's birthday is July 17th and I want her to have her own birthday. Also, the 18th is on a Friday and will allow him to be home with us longer (about 10 days) without having to go back to work so soon, since he's only gonna take about a week off. One of us has to work! Bleh!

Anywho, that's what's going on so far today. During the u/s we couldn't get a profile, she NEVER gives us a profile! We did get a good picture of her little foot! So cute! I hope she doesn't end up with her daddy's big ole feet! :)

I'm glad your doctor caught the narrow pelvis! The ob I had with my oldest didn't catch mine and labor with him was hell. This time around, I am almost positive we are going with a planned csection.

I have a friend who has had 3 scheduled c-sections. She hates surgery, but says the recovery isn't so bad (and the drugs are good!). I'm glad they caught the narrow pelvis thing!

That is very exciting news. You get to pick a birthday and plan everything without guesswork (I hate surprises). :)

Csections are not at all. I used an abdomend recovery belt that was amazing! I highly recommend it. Also, I think the recovery depends on the type of situation and incision. My second section was scheduled and I healed so much faster than my first, which was an emergency section.

You'll feel relaxed and you can plan everything to make the arrival just right. If I didn't have a 2 year old I'd opt for one too.
You will officially have a birthday soon if little one doesn't intend to make a surprise arrival.
Glad everything is going great for you hun x

Glad that your Doctor caught your problem- a friend of mine wasn't so lucky! She labored for hours then ended up in an emergency section. I'd rather just go for the section and get it over with! I'm assuming I'll end up in a section too (where I'm expecting twins). I used to be scared sh*tless of sections, but once you read up on them and watch videos, they don't seem that bad :)
