Maternity Pics & Shower Week!

Well, we finally had some maternity pictures taken this weekend. We decided to forgo paying a professional boo-koos of money and just have my husband's step mother take them. She takes pictures practically for a living, just doesn't get paid for it. Lol! And she has one of those really expensive, nice cameras. So, we managed to get some really good shots. We took almost 200 pictures total. Of course, they didn't all turn out good, but there are definitely some keepers in there. And that's really all you ever end up liking out of photoshoots you actually pay for, anyways. So I'm happy. We saved a good bit of money doing that.
My "surprise" shower at work is this week on Thursday. I'm not suppose to know about it, but my co-worker, whom I work very closely with in our 8'x8' office (LOL), couldn't keep it to herself. Haha! So, small work shower on Thursday, then my family and friends shower on Sunday! Ahh, I can't wait! Then, the stroller/car seat and "surprise" item that my dad picked out for me should be here this week, also. The travel system is scheduled to be delivered on Thursday and the other item is only 1 state over in Georgia, so it'll probably be here sometime from today to Wednesday! I'm so excited to start getting stuff! Maybe then I'll feel a LOT more prepared! I want to hurry and see what all I get, so I know what I need to go out and buy if I'll need it before she gets here. Possibly with gift cards that I receive! Even better! :)
So, then, after my shower this weekend, my mom will be here 2 weeks and 6 days later on July 12! Gosh, THEN baby will be coming like 6 days later via c-section! OMG! It's getting too close! I start to slightly freak out a little, sometimes, when I think about it too long! Lol!

Becca, I was thinking the same thing about my chubby face and stuff, and figured I could deal because I'm only gonna be pregnant with this baby once and would like to be able to look back on it one day. Or atleast have the memory preserved for her at the least. Emma, my parents thankfully got the car seat and stroller taken care of! I was about to order the car seat. I know I'm getting a custom built diaper bag at my shower (suppose to be a secret also. Lol) from my DH step mom (she's froo-froo). |

I've been waiting to purchase things before my shower because I don't want to get things on my own that my mom or aunties were planning to purchase. But I feel like I need a couple things to be really ready - like the car seat, a changing pad, Ergo carrier and insert, & diaper bag. But I'll hold out - my shower is the 28th. I just keep telling my little one to make it PAST the 28th. :) |

I'm not sure I want my chubby face and arms preserved so well! Your shower sounds like it is going to be a blast! Enjoy!! |
