Well quite a bit has occured since my last journal 5 days ago. Let's start out with last weeks pre-natal appointment on Friday (37w2d March 28,2014). Normal routine was done, had great outcome on blood pressure, urine, and heartbeat. Finally, got test results back from Group B Strep-positive-this girl was very upset when I received the news, as it was negative with my first pregnancy. My OB took me into his office to explain to me that all would be okay and I would just get a full dose of antibiotics through IV before delivery. He made me feel better as I was leaving when he said, " I will see you soon in the hospital" like he knew something I did not. The reason why I was tore up about the results was because there are still risks even though it's low percentage. Now, I'm pretty scared if my water breaks she will be exposed to the bacteria and get infected before I get the antibiotics. I'm always the one to worry / think of the worst case scenario.

That same night I went to the hospital due to constant contractions. After being on the monitors for over an hour turns out it's just intense Braxton Hicks. 2 nurses checked my cervix (soft) and I'm a fingertip dilated. Since Braxton Hicks were so strong they wanted to see if I had a UTI, so they took a sterile urine specimen by using a catheter-which hurt like hell, never had one in my life..those results came back and said I was dehydrated!?!? While the nurse was telling us about dehydration Brian and I looked at each other in confusion, like how is that even possible? Knowing I drink 2 cases of water every week and being the only thing I drink besides milk occasionally. After the lecture from nurses and doctor they discharged me once I promised to them I would drink more fluids so I didn't have to get all hooked up on IV. As we were walking out I felt a little discouraged. How was I going to rehydrate myself when I already feel waterlogged...

After being in the hospital I really needed something different to happen. BaBy ShOwEr number 2 had finally arrived on Sunday (March 30, 2014) surrounded by all my family and friends it had lifted my spirits (was not feeling myself after Friday). We had so much fun chit-chatting about the baby, time just flew by. Before I knew it it was time to dig in all the good foods then open gifts. Gifts galore! We were swamped with clothes rangeing from size NB-24 months and all kinds of other goodies. One baby shower card was so sweet-it included not only $money$ for our baby girl but $money$ for Ryan. No one wanted to see him left out so we had him participate in every event from decorating to handing mommy gifts. forgot to mention the cake was bea..utiful!

Monday (March 31,2014) I had a follow-up appointment with my doc. from the hospital visit. Cervix was checked again and still only a fingertip dilated and losing bits of mucous plug here and there. They checked urine for keystones and it came back NEGATIVE-this girl was very happy because I was no longer dehydrated and did it all on my own in 2 days!! :D My next appointment is on April 9, 2014 (week before EDD) going to talk about getting a kick start in labour or just going natural. We have decided to let our lil' girl choose her b-day not the docs. :)
