The Aftermath

So I got my cerclage on 12/2 YAYYYY!! Everything went well. I really appreciate everyone who wished us well and prayed for us through this procedure. It went A WHOLE LOT better than I anticipated.
For starters, we were only at the hospital, total 5 hours 15 minutes, max. We got there at 5:45 am to check in, they got me to my room around 6 am. While in the room, they checked my vitals, put in my IV (which was probably the most painful part of the day), went over the procedure with us again, asked me health questions, then let me rest. My hubby then fell asleep because he has just gotten off work at 5 am so he could go with. Then at 6:45 am they took me into surgery. Now the good thing is my doctor actually found a way for them to sedate me instead of doing the spinal, which I did previously tell her I was ok with doing it if it's necessary. It was some type of IV sedation she said, but it had extremely little to no risks of affecting the baby and I would be asleep instead of awake like with a spinal. She advocated and vouched for it, so I said okay. I woke back up at around 8:15-8:20 am, they let me lay there a little bit before checking on the baby again, which she did with a hand held Doppler. At first she couldn't find it, but she said because of the position that you are in when she's doing the surgery could've just had the baby settle to the back of the uterus which would explain not hearing it. Then she ordered them to bring the ultrasound machine and did a belly u/s, which showed my little bug in there nestled way back there but still with a strong HB, so that was awesome! Then around 8:45 they took me back to my room where my Husband was and I slept for a little bit. They woke me back up to take my vitals, made me eat and drink something, since you can't eat or drink anything after midnight the night before, and then once I urinated they let me go home which was around 11 am. So far so good, and I'm pretty happy about it. The bleeding stopped by the next morning, which I don't know if I should call it bleeding or not because even though it was bright red and a little more than spotting, it still didn't fill a pad. Either way, it stopped by the next morning then I started getting discharge with some mixture of pink and brown in it, which that appeared to have stopped yesterday. As far as the pain, I really didn't have any pain (must have a high tolerance for pain). After I woke up I had some extreme discomfort and my legs felt like noodles, I'm assuming from being in that position for some time, but nothing like I expected, AT ALL. Walking was not an option because I had severe wobbly-leg syndrome lol, but the feeling "down there" was more discomfort than it was pain. Your first couple of urine passes are going to be a little irritating and may sting but not to the point where you want to jump off the toilet, at least it wasn't that dramatic for me. You will feel it down there of course but after a couple of days you forget its there, which I have quite a few times. I would sit down too hard or just flop on the bed, then I have to remember, or my husband tell me, you have that stitch down there and you don't want anything to happen so you have to ease it down. Of course I'm not doing anything stupid or reckless, but I still wanna be very careful. Oh yes....I am back to work, which I went back Monday and was completely fine. No pain, no discomfort; I feel great. I have an appt on Friday 12/9 to f/u just to make sure all is well and I haven't started funneling or anything... but I also want to know if 17 p shots would be okay in this case just to make sure early labor doesn't happen, or is that just for women with low progesterone, because I like fact that it prevents early labor from on-setting. I just want to know all options before I completely relax.
Otherwise everything's awesome. I'm so glad God let us come this far in technology, or else a lot of us would be SOL. God Bless and Baby Dust
