I had a bad scare yesterday...

I wake up to get dressed for work around 5 am CT and my urine was all red. COMPLETELY.FREAKED. OUT!!! I called Nurse Direct, who called my doctor, who called me back, but she didn't seem too concerned because it wasn't bright red, it was more a maroon color and not soaking a pad in an hour, and she said only come in if it gets worse. Well, the next time I went to use the restroom there was a clot and I made my decision then that I was going to the ER whether she thought necessary or not. I didn't know what the hell was going on and I wasn't about to go to work and make things worse. So I went in to ER and they ran every blood test possible, gave me plenty of fluids because I was also kind of dehydrated (which was my fault for not getting enough water the last couple of days) and then sent me for ultrasounds; abdominal and vaginal. Come to find out, the blood was left over from the cerclage procedure and it was trapped behind the stitch. Because the stitch was so tight and my cervix swell up, there was blood caught behind it that didn't fully finish flushing out so it clotted and once my cervix was not as swollen the clots began to come out which is why the blood wasn't "fresh" and bright red. The ER doctor ended up getting the last 2 clots out which he said he didn't see any active bleeding so that should be it. Phew!!! That scared the daylights out of me. My last miscarriage happened at 13 weeks so for this to happen on the day I turned 13 weeks with this pregnancy, I was a little beside myself. But thank God every thing turned out to be fine.
Now the u/s part was the funniest, most awesome experience for me. Never had I ever had a baby show up on screen looking like they were doing sit-ups, or grabbing for it's feet, or whatever it was doing. I swear my tears turned into to laughter as soon as she showed me that image. She first let me see that there was heartbeat, but then she kind of giggled and said that's a first. It looked like the baby was doing sit-ups in slow motion, lmao. My husband was kind of mad because he missed that part. They didn't let him come back there this time because it was an ER visit, which they diagnose it as "Threatened Miscarraige" anytime you have a bleed while pregnant and since they don't know if they will see a HB or not they don't let anyone go back except you of course....and technically I wasn't suppose to see it but she said since she saw the heartbeat and the baby was measuring bigger than my GA at 13w6d, that she didn't care because she was hoping everything was okay too just from knowing my history. But My God, to see my little bean on the screen being so acrobatic and active, and looking so much like the baby he/she is going to be, was best moment I will probably have this year. Of course, ER don't give you u/s photos so I don't have any to share but I wish I did. God is so Good!

I'm so glad everything turned out okay! And yay for seeing your little active babe! :) That's unfortunate that your husband wasn't allowed to go back with you. :/ They always let mine go back, even with a threatened miscarriage. It would have been so hard to go through that alone!
