i can't believe that i'm already halfway through! i know the next couple of months are going to fly by too, since i've got several work trips and a two-week trip home planned. i'm here for another week, then gone for 3 days, then here for another week and a bit, then gone for a week, then here for two weeks, then gone again for two. then it's mid june! crazy!

things are been going really well. i definitely have a belly (though the only stranger to say anything about it so far was the guy that told me i couldn't go kayaking when we were in mexico... boo), and that makes it a little more real. i'm feeling the dude more and more, though it's still inconsistent. yesterday he/she was partying in there - normally i might feel one or two movements a day, but yesterday i had like 4 or 5 sessions of activity. really very cool.

we came back from our babymoon last weekend. went to puerto vallarta, mexico. it was wonderful. stayed at the occidental grand which had been freshly renovated. it was so relaxing to just sit on the beach and read and not have to think about work. we went sailing and snorkeling and just generally had a great time.

this SATURDAY (ahhh so soon!) we'll be going for my anatomy scan. i really hope that the dude is cooking in there just fine. i'd love to find out the sex, but i've been told they often don't let you know that day so who knows when i'll know whether the dude is a girl or guy. i couldn't care less at this point, which is incredibly strange to think since before i was pregnant i was SET on having a girl. maybe it's cause i have an entirely irrational belief that this dude is a boy that i've been able to get on board with the other sex. hah, we'll just have to wait and see

last bit of news: the other night we were at a mall in another city and went in to old navy to discover that they have a maternity section! i was so sure canada didn't have maternity wear in old navys! i was very excited and picked up some shirts. and *adorable* onesies. i couldn't resist.

anyhoo, i suppose i should go to work. gah.

Wooohoooo for 20 weeks!! I can't believe 20 weeks is behind us and only 20 weeks left.. *sometimes less* wow!! .. and they won't tell you the gender at your anatomy scan?! that blows. I was told that's the only thing I would be told at mine. The tech will tell me the gender but thats about it. Would need to wait for my midwife to tell me about everything else *measurements etc* BUT I will say it won't be hard to tell yourself even if they dont tell you. They will go in between the legs and if you see the 3 lil lines.. girl.. and if you see an extra lil leg than.. obviously boy. I knew it was boy before I was told.. I saw the hotdog there not the hamburger! ;) woohooo excited for you!! saturday is FAST approaching!! :D Good luck on saturday!
