it's a girl!

well, it's a girl! we can't believe it! everyone was so sure it was a boy. based of course on no information, but there was definitely a consensus about the sex. the tech was very sure though, and even i could tell when she went back. we're both ecstatic; i couldn't stop smiling all day.
being able to see her in there was amazing. i hadn't had an ultrasound since week 9 - what a HUGE change! it was absolutely crazy to see her ribs and spine and head and arms and legs. we even got a great view of the four chambers of her heart. she was really chill the whole time, which makes sense for when i usually feel her: we started around 11 and if i feel her at all before the evening, it's not until after lunch. she was laying down right at the bottom just chilling, with her feet fully above her head (think pike position). the tech tried to get her to roll over a few times, but she was having none of it. at best, we'd get like a hand wave or a quarter turn, almost like she was saying 'b*tch, please, i'm sleeping'. it was pretty adorable. at one point, she had one of her hands up against her face, exactly like a picture of me from when i was very young. it was adorable and i'm so very in love!
the tech didn't say anything we obviously wrong, but we'll wait til we get the doc's call to know for sure. then i'll *finally* post something to facebook. most people in real life know, but i've been holding out telling random people i went to high school with for a little longer.
anyway, now all i want to do is buy buy buy! i'm not at all a girly frilly lady, and i really don't like pink, but it's nice to know i can buy a dress or two. we can paint and buy a crib and ahhh! so excited! i'm gonna be so broke! haha
