Tummy Trouble
By MrsFin1403 » Posted Nov. 8, 2011 8:12am - 198 views - 2 comments

Trying to figure out which would be worse - to feel nauseated all the time but keep a healthy weight, or eat to fight the nausea but pack on extra pounds? My upset stomach says "Eat! I feel better when you eat!" but my brain, especially the loud body image part of my brain, says "You can't count on breastfeeding to get rid of all that extra weight!"

Ugh. I know every pregnancy is different, but it really wasn't this bad the first two times! Yes, that was 6 and 7 years ago and my metabolism has surely changed in that time, but seriously! My old tricks for combating the nausea aren't cutting it and my new tricks are tipping the scale a little too much.

Need to find some middle ground until the magical week when the nausea disappears and I can eat normally again. I read that having a protein with each meal is supposed to help and I did notice yesterday that after I ate an egg sandwich for lunch, i felt better longer. So, maybe there is some truth to it.

I guess I'll give this a whirl and see what happens. Can't wait til next Monday when I can finally see if it is one or two little ones giving mommy's tummy such a turn!

Cottage cheese is a good idea - thanks!

I've been adding cottage cheese and nuts to my snacks/meals to make the fullness last longer.
