My Milestones & Events

On August 30, 2012 at 9 weeks 2 days pregnant
First Ultrasound
The Appointment was supposed to be on the 27th, but they called on the 21st to reschedule to the 30th. That was a little frustrating, cause at that point it seemed so close and I was so excited. Oh well. We got to see our healthy little baby, and that's all that matters. It was so weird to see. That's something that you normally see on TV, or from a friends pictures or something, but to have it be happening to you is something else. I thought, I was going to cry, but I was just so amazed and happy that all I could do was grin. Big old toothy grin. The baby was doing little crunches, or little dinosaur movements as husband likes to say. It was even more amazing to hear the heartbeat. That thing was pita pattering like crazy. It's heart beat was 167 beats per minute. Above 140 is supposed to point towards a girl. I can only hope so. I feel so blessed to have this little miracle growing inside of me. I love to look at the picture, and think how that is going on inside of me. Wow. So happy

Heard Baby's Heartbeat for the First Time
Same story as the first ultra sound. Was amazing, and surreal. Going fast at 167 beats per minute, which can mean it's a girl. I hope so, but I will be happy either way.

On August 8, 2012 at 6 weeks 1 day pregnant
First Prenatal Appointment
Nothing to exciting. Just went in to do some blood and urine tests with a nurse. They loaded me up with pamphlets to read. I will meet with the doctor in 3 weeks for the first Ultra sound. Now that I am excited for.

On July 24, 2012 at 4 weeks 0 days pregnant
First Positive Pregnancy Test
Deep down I knew I was pregnant, of course I needed to take that test to be able to say it out loud and be sure I wasn't crazy. I just felt different all month. I kept having pinching in my lower stomach and tingling in my breasts. We had started trying on July 1st, so it was still a surprise. I knew it could happen that first, but didn't want to get my hopes up that it would. Who knew I'd be so blessed. I feel so grateful for that. I realise how many people have such a hard time getting pregnant, and I truly feel for them. I took a test in the morning before my husband left for work. I put it on the counter upside down and went about my morning routine. After 4 minutes we went back in the bathroom together and flipped it over. My heart lept, two lines. My husband couldn't have been more happy. I just stared at it as he hugged me and said "What did we do?" Haha little panic moment. I didn't have to work that day, so he gave me a blessing to calm my nerves while I was alone.

Told Husband/Partner
My husband and I looked at the test together at the same time in the morning before he left for work. I was lucky enough to have the day off. He was so happy and calmed my nerves so well. I know he will be my saving grace through this.
