My Milestones & Events

On February 17, 2012 at 28 weeks 6 days pregnant
Got my C-Section Date
The OB's office called today and said that my c-section would be April 26 at 7:30 am! I will be 38w5d but my OB doesn't want to chance me going into labor after the fiasco of Allison's birth!

On November 30, 2011 at 17 weeks 4 days pregnant
Found Out Baby's Gender
James Robert is going to be arriving around May 5, 2012!

It was quite different having an ultrasound with him versus Allison. She was difficult and didn't actually show off the goods until 24 weeks. He was practically showing off the goods from the beginning! As if he could hear us. When the tech wanted to see his brain, he turned his head toward the probe. When she wanted to see his heart, he turned chest to the probe. It was wonderful!

On November 30, 2011 at 17 weeks 4 days pregnant
Announced Baby's Gender to Family
I went to my ultrasound by myself, Allison and my mom waited in the waiting room. When I came out, I showed the pictures to Allison first and told her she was meeting her new baby brother. She promptly told me it was Bean (his nickname). My mom heard this exchange and was super excited. I, then, called my husband and told him he was having a son- he was super excited! All he could say was "I'm having a son! I'm having a son!" Then, I called my dad and told him he was going to have a grandson named James Robert (named after him and James and James' dad). He was super excited too.
This family is overjoyed to have one of each!

On October 9, 2011 at 10 weeks 1 day pregnant
Felt My Baby Move for the First Time
I think I've been feeling the baby move yesterday and today. It feels like little flutters on the left side of my tummy, right around halfway between my pelvic bone and belly button. I didn't feel this with Allison, part of it is the anterior placenta I had and being a busy FTM.

This is subject to change after talking with my OB!

On September 29, 2011 at 8 weeks 5 days pregnant
First Ultrasound
I had both a T/V and abdominal ultrasound to look at my ovaries and the cutest little bean! Baby had a HR of 188 bmp but not able to hear it just yet- just see it.

On September 21, 2011 at 7 weeks 4 days pregnant
First Prenatal Appointment
Nothing exciting to note- just a regular first appointment with my OB

On August 28, 2011 at 3 weeks 5 days pregnant
First Positive Pregnancy Test
James and I have been TTC #2 for 6 months. I haven't been feeling the greatest for a few days but I have been known to have symptoms without pregnancy, so I decided to wait as long as possible to test! This morning I decided I need to know if I'm crazy or pregnant so I took a IC. A line appeared quickly (and no mistaking it!). I was unconvinced so I took a FRER to back it up (same urine) and the same thing happened! I'm going to be a mommy again...

On August 28, 2011 at 3 weeks 5 days pregnant
Told Husband/Partner
I had Allison take the IC test to James in the kitchen. He took it from the baby and looked at it.

"What does that mean?" he asked me.

"It means you're going to be a dad for the second time!"

James didn't say much but he did tell Allie that she was going to be a big sister. It's a start (but he didn't show much enthusiasm with Allie's pregnancy either). He keeps things inside and doesn't share them!

Announced Pregnancy to Family
I emailed my mother a picture of my positive test. She looked at it and quickly figured out I was pregnant!
