May 2015 babies!

Category: Due Date Clubs - May

Anyone else due in May of 2015?

I just got my pos hpt two days ago, with an EDD of 5/29/15. Just barely made the May cut-off. :) If all goes well this will be my second child. I don't really feel it though, other than mild fatigue, restlessness at night (which might be causing the fatigue, lol), and increased appetite.

How's everyone else doing?

I just got my first positive test 2 days ago too! (second positive today because it hadn't sunk in for my husband or I yet). Due date is the 29/5/15 and this is our second baby too.

I'm mostly just getting mild round ligament pains, nausea and heartburn at the moment so it's really not sinking in that it's happened again, especially as this is our 7th month of trying.

Little bit concerned about the dates though, my daughter's birthday is 29/4 and mine is 20/5 so 3 birthdays within about a month is scary.

It hasn't sunken in for me yet, either. To the point I haven't even told DH, as if it's some sort of misunderstanding and I'll get my period any day. I have a higher chance of miscarriage, so I almost want to wait until 8 weeks, but I think he'd be offended if I knew for a month and didn't tell him. lol. How to break the news our second is due a month before our first turns 2....

We were trying to avoid March as 75% of my inlaws have birthdays in March so we're happy things happened when they happened other than bunching up 3 of our 4 birthdays.

I ended up telling my husband as soon as he got home from work with the help of our 3 year old. I think we're planning on letting the inlaws know this weekend, but I have no idea when we're telling other people. Most of our friends and family knew we were trying so it's not going to be too surprising for them.

I think it's not really going to sink in until the doctor's appointment (mine is in 2 days time) to confirm/get info on what to do next as we've moved to a new city since our daughter was born. Possibly even not until an ultrasound.

Also is this big a jump in the line darkness normal, do you think? Got me a little concerned as to how many might be hiding in there. (the uncertainty of the DPO is because I'm not 100% on which day I ovulated) User Image

Taking from the fact that hcg doubles every 2-3 days, I would assume that it should be twice as dark. However yours looks like it took a pretty big jump so who knows! Do twins run on your side of the family?

Yeah, that's what I was thinking as it looks like a huge leap in how dark it is. With my first I did one test at 7 weeks into my cycle and then saw a doctor, so I don't really have experience with testing multiple times and early on.

My older brother was supposed to be a twin, or at least my mum is pretty certain, as her first scan showed two sacs then she had some massive bleeding and was told she had lost them. Was told to get a D&C, refused, and when they checked again he was still there but the other sac was gone.

Pretty sure it usually skips generations though? I think there may be twins further back but it's certainly not common at all.

There's tons of twins on my hubby's side, but I'm almost positive it's dependent on the mother's side. When I first went to the doctor with my son I told her I must be a month or two along. She felt my belly and told me there must be twins in there. Scared the CRAP out of me. lol. I was just farther than I thought but I was so scared to go from no children to 2. xD You'll have to let me know how the doctor's goes. :)

Definitely, it's at around 9am tomorrow morning so hopefully it'll go well. I have to check with my GP if I'll need to see an Ob or if I'm safe to use a midwife, here in New Zealand the standard maternity care are CNM that work in the hospitals and only high risk pregnancies tend to be seen by OBs. I have a genetic condition called Ehlers-Danlos which can cause complications, last time around I had crutches from ~25 weeks on because of Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, but I wasn't diagnosed until this year.

I had the opposite issue first time around, I thought I was 7 weeks and it turns out I was only 6 because I just have long cycles. It's why I didn't test until 7 weeks as I was having between 5-7 week cycles anyway.

Yeah, I had weird, unreliable periods at that time bc I was underweight (but didn't think so). I ate, I just didn't eat enough. So when I had a missed month or two I thought nothing of it, until I started spotting on and off for 2 weeks and thought to test. Thankfully everything was fine.

At least you've been diagnosed so they/ you know a little more about what to expect and look out for. Hopefully that will assist you this time around. I'm excited for you! :D

Hi ladies! I'm due May 31st, 2015! I'm hoping to give birth a couple of days before... with my first, I had a stripping which worked WONDERS and my son was born 10 days in advance. I thought it was extremely convenient. Pretty much the only part of the pregnancy that was actually convenient! ;)

Hi there! More than likely none or one of us will give birth on the expected day, lol.

I have to ask; what's a 'stripping'?

Hi everyone!

I'm currently 8w3d with our rainbow. Due May 3rd 2015. :)

We've been working with a fertility specialist due to recurrent losses. We got the OK to start TTC in late July and got our BFP the very next cycle.

I had some red spotting with small clots a few weeks ago so had an early ultrasound at 6w5d and saw a beautiful little one with a strong heartbeat. We never saw a heartbeat with any of our previous pregnancies so it was kind of a big deal. :)

So far this pregnancy has been... uncomfortable to say the least! I've had severe morning sickness (currently on diclectin but still throwing up in the mornings) and have an odd aversion to water so it's a struggle to stay hydrated.

Looking forward to getting to know you all over the next few months. :)

rawrimagiant - it's a membrane sweep. :)

cosmoholic, glad you got a heartbeat this time! I'm personaly planning to get obsessive with my home Doppler in a few weeks. Because obsessing is what I do when pregnant.

Hey ladies. Had a fairly eventful evening. About 10 last night my 3 year old woke up coughing and struggling to breathe, we called healthline(free medical support line here) who listened to her breathing and called paramedics. Ended up with firefighters turning up first as the paramedics were all already on callouts. She's ok now, sick but breathing OK, and has to see her GP this afternoon.

I had my pregnancy confirmed by my GP this morning, as well as getting a quantitive HCG test, antibody titre, iron level and liver functions tested. He suspects I just had a long LP as I'm getting strong positives yet my period isn't due til tomorrow.

Woah, what a scare that must have been. Let us know what the GP says!

Hi ladies! I found out really early ( 9 dpo) that I was pregnant with our first. The edd is 5/29/15. DH and I are beyond excited! I used the CBE digital with week indicator and then became kinda obsessed with it. It just turned to 2-3 weeks so I am feeling better. So far my symptoms include, mood swings (poor hubby), extremely swollen and sore bbs, bleeding gums, and light cramping. Also, a total aversion to the smell of the lunchroom at the school where I teach. So excited to be on this journey with all of you!

Welcome ladies, it's crazy how many of us have the same due date.

She's been told to rest, drink fluid, stay warm and if she needs help at night to take panadol (acetaminophen), as well as her inhaler if she has trouble breathing (possibly has asthma as it's in both sides of the family, her last GP wasn't sure if she had asthma or just a post viral wheeze so he prescribed an inhaler when she was younger just in case).

He's pretty sure it's just a virus as there is a nasty one going around causing a barking cough that had mostly been hitting the elderly but fits what she has. Could be a normal recovery of 3-5 days but some of his patients have taken 2-6 weeks to get better.

Also I have an appointment set up to meet with my possible midwife on Sunday, she was recommended by my GP as she has a firm medical background (all of ours are CNM, this one particularly my GP knew when she was a nurse and while she was training 18 years ago) and works closely with an OB at the hospital. It's kind of crazy how quickly it's all coming together.

Welcome, ladies! Congrats on your bfp's! So excited to have women to share this with as the few friends I have would probably get the glazed eye expression of the massively uninterested. You know. That look your SO got when you tried to explain the longevity of sperm and egg and fertile CM. lol.

Wow, Ceijae, I would have been so frightened. Thank goodness she's alright, hopefully she gets over it soon.

Congrats on seeing the healthy bean, Cosmo! I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I want to say, after the hormones peak at 7 weeks, they start to drop, so hopefully by then some symptoms will subside.

My mother in law is coming down in the beginning of November, I can't wait. I'm so excited to let her know she's going to have a second grandbaby. Since she lives in NY and only comes down 1-2 times a year, it seems worth it to hold out until we see her in person. :)

Hi ladies!

Sorry I can't remember who said what & my phone sucks for replying on here! Whoever asked about the line getting so dark, don't stress, doesn't necessarily mean twins. I'm a poas addict and that is pretty common :)

Well I'm Joy, been pg 5 times now (1st 2 were lost) have a D's who will be 2 in Dec, a 2nd D's who is 6 months & just found out on Wed that I'm pregnant with #3! Due May 26 if you go by AF,May 29 if you go by o. Very excited & a little overwhelmed to be pg again! Took us 2 yrs to conceive #1!! Lol!

Well, baby calls! Ttyl!

How is everyone feeling?

I'm getting nauseous, heartburn and round ligament pain already! It's so weird as with my daughter I only felt like I had the flu until much later on.

Also everything is tasting like eggs. I made cookies for our friends on the 23rd since we play Pathfinder together weekly, they tasted like eggs to me. I also tried a sip of energy drink that is supposed to taste like sour cola gummies (I try to keep my caffeine intake below 80mg a day, but I'd just gotten blood drawn and hadn't eaten yet so wanted something sugary to stop from feeling dizzy) and it tasted like eggs too! So weird.

DD: 29/04/11, Dahlia/Dali Lynnette V.
MC: 17/10/14, Gabriel was miscarried at 6 weeks, 3 days.
??: Either going to be Liliana Mary V. or Damian Leo V.

Medical Zebra - I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, either Classical or Hypermobility type but my doctor isn't certain which yet. Also have Raynaud's Syndrome as a result.

I feel pretty normal. I think yesterday I was a little irritable, and I've been having a lot of trouble staying asleep (even though I'm up from 5 am-11 pm) but other than that (and I seem to sweat more easily. Yay!) everything's pretty status quo. Seems so weird. I occasionally pee on an OPK stick (I have a bunch left) just to make sure it's still really dark. And I had a super sharp pain last night when I coughed, but it faded into a dull ache and subsided a few minutes after. Scared me for a second though.

So I put my boy in a little shirt that said "hooray for baby #2 this May!" and tried to keep him up to greet the hubs, but it happened to be the one night he was running late and I had to put him to bed. lol. Sigh. So, hopefully tonight I/we break the news. xD
