About Me

Quit birth control Sept 2010 shortly after our wedding in hopes to ttc after the new year. Gave it a go Dec & was shocked to find out Christmas day(1day late) that we were pregnant, sadly I started bleeding the next day. We were told wait 1 cycle before trying again, so that is what we did. Shocked to feel pinchy & Nauseous 9dpo(day before Valentine's day) I decided to test. Was shocked to see a 2nd line & so soon! Made it about a week before I began bleeding & it took about a month to complete, while they tested my hcg & wondered about an ectopic, of many other possibilities. We waited a few cycles & tried, actually TRIED! Opks, timed sex, the whole bit...NOTHING! So we decided to take a break & focus on health, mental & physical. I lost 20lbs & kept charting. Finally felt good enough April 2012, so we quit preventing but decided to never "try" again & let God lead. Low and behold that cycle brought us our 1st Rainbow, our daughter! After all we went thru, we opted to leave our fertility in God's hands to when & if we had another. Dec 2013 I had extreme sharp pains in my side which led to an ER visit where we found I was about 6wks pregnant but it was ectopic & my tube had already ruptured. I was rushed for emergency surgery & lost our baby & my right tube. It was devastating & I had to learn how to trust my body all over again. By May 2014 we were just focusing on & thankful for the blessing we did have, our daughter. Were surprised to find out in June we had conceived on our 4th anniversary, was nervous but put our faith in God. In 2015 gave birth to our 2nd Rainbow, our son! We had 2 more losses between him & lost my mother to cancer, so had taken another break for mental & physical health-allowing my luteal phase to lengthen more.We then quit preventing Sept 2016 & conceived right around my birthday. We are excited to be expecting our 3rd Rainbow! God is SO good!

My Birth Plan

Our daughter Savanah Rayne was born 1/18/2013 in the water at 41wks 3 days weighing 7lbs 14oz 19.5" long 37cm head at a hospital birth center. 7hr labor

Our son Evan Anthony was born 2/24/15 in the water at 40wks 4days weighing 9lbs 4oz 20.5" long 38cm head in the comfort our our living room. 6hr labor

We are on route to another natural home waterbirth and are team green, only God knows the sex of our baby thus far :)

Red raspberry leaf is my friend, last pregnancy I added alfalfa in as well, and this time trying some stinging nettle too.

Been doing the per. massage and got my raspberry leaf tea all ready to go. Guess I shall start drinking it! I noticed that raspberries made me feel a bit crampy, so I guess the tea might, too. I guess it gives me a chance to practice my hypnobirthing techniques! Can't believe hospitals are still encouraging pushing when we are lying on our backs. :-( Absolutely the worst position, though I realise it sometimes has to happen when women have epidurals as it's not safe to be in certain positions with dead legs. I would be delighted if I end up with no tearing. The hypnobirthing suggests a kind of downward breathing where baby is 'nudged' down - I guess this is the gentlest of pushes whilst maintaining that openness! Been re-reading my birth plan and worried it is terribly unrealistic, but gotta try! x

Congratulations on you current pregnancy. I'll post pics of my bump now and again and we'll see if I'm right. Just have a feeling I'm going to have the same sort of sitting proud, beach ball look that you did last time! :-) Not all bumps seem to look the same. Glad you are not offended......! All the best x
