Zane Daniel's Birth Story

I went in the 19th at 5am to get checked in and prepped for the c-section...didn't start out the greatest...first the computer in the room wouldn't work then the laptop wouldn't work so they had to do my info at the nurses station computer, then I had to be cathed twice because they used a latex one the first time and I didn't know till it felt like my nether regions were burning(I'm latex sensitive) before they cathed me they asked if I was allergic to shell fish or had problems with iodine you would have thought latex allergies would have been asked about..I guess I should have thought to say something before hand but my mind was other places. Then after I got my epidural my b/p dropped a tad bit and it made me nauseous (threw up just a lil bit) and then baby boy didn't want to come out(I could feel all the jerking and pressing, not very comfortable!) Finally at 7:33am Zane Daniel decided to cooperate and come out and made his grand appearance special by peeing everywhere :). He was 7 lbs 13 oz and 20 1/2 inches long and has a good set of lungs on him lol.

I started some iron supplements today but they have not kicked in yet obviously. Liam is doing a lil better today but he has a cold :/ so he is really congested. They had to put him on oxygen since yesterday because his nose is just sooo stuffed up. So when he tries to eat his heart rate drops too low as does his oxygen saturation rate. I am just so ready for him to be home... i dont really like this whole nicu experience... its really tough... im just so hopeful he gets to come home in the next few weeks.
	Comment from MadisonN » Posted Jul. 31, 2012 12:13pm Hey lady :) Yeah, I'm getting so anxious now! Time is just flying by, only 4 more weeks to go (or less!). I can't believe we are this far already. Good luck for your c-section! I'm kind of jealous, you at least know how your baby will come out and when... I'm obsessing over the fact that I don't know when my baby will decide to pop out nor do I know if I'll need a c-section or not or whether I can handle a natural birth without meds... So many unknowns! Ah well, I guess as long as baby is born healthy then I don't really mind xx hope everything goes smoothly for you!

I feel really lucky my pregnancy has been a real breeze, I do have some heartburn and leg cramps but all in all I feel good. We are totally ready for his arrival the nursery is completely done and I'm pretty sure he has enough clothes for the first year of his life lol! Only 8 weeks to go! How are you doing?
