Savannah Lee's Birth Story

We went in for my weekly OB appt and she decided to send me for an NST. My BP when we got to L&D was 197/115! After a quick ultrasound to make sure baby was developed, it was decided to admit me overnight to start the cervix softeners and then start pitocin first thing in the morning of the 17th. Miss Savannah had other ideas though... I started having regular contractions and dilating shortly after they started giving me the Cervidil. My BP was also staying pretty high so they decided to just go ahead and give me the pitocin that night around 9pm and I had the epidural by 10pm. At 1:30am they checked me and I was at 5cm. Suddenly about 15 mins later I started getting the urge to push. They checked me again and I was complete! The OB wasn't there yet so they told me I couldn't push. I had to breathe through the next few contractions and try not to push. My Dr ran into the room, got prepped and 4 pushes later, Savannah made her appearance at 1:59am. She had the cord wrapped tightly around her neck which scared me. My DH didn't get to cut the cord because of that and it took her a minute to pink up. She is doing great now and definitely had to do things her own way!
