MaKenzi Ryann's Birth Story
I woke up early morning 3/24/15 to what I had hoped was a accidentally bed wetting. So forced myself back to sleep saying if it happens again it's definitely my water breaking. During the 2nd awakening I knew it was my water. I went to L&D and the RN and MD thought it was just a large amt of discharge based on US / Blood work and wanted to send me home. I disagreed and as put on clothes the gush was prominent. I was admitted and given Pitocin to induce labor. After about 8 hrs of labor I requested IV pain meds (they didn't work) so I asked to be prepped for an epidural. About an hour after placing the epidural, my blood pressure dropped and then the baby's heart rate had decelerations. After several hours of slow progression and not being able to fine tuning Pitocin, my BP, & baby's heart rate. They decided it was c section time thinking my placenta was failing. During the c section they realized I had placenta accerta ( where the placenta had attached to a fibroid which could lead to hemorrhage or hysterectomy) . Luckily the c section call was made because they were able to save my uterus and I have a happy, healthy baby girl. So far everything looks good. But if I choose to have another baby it'll have to be via c section and I'll never carry to full term.
