Olivia Marie's Birth Story

I went into labor at home starting at 8 at night on the 16th. Contractions were about 3 minutes apart and lasting for about 45 seconds. L&D told me to continue monitoring and wait till they were 5 minutes apart and lasting a minute. So at about 130 am we went to the hospital. I was only 1cm and 80% effaced. I labored for 11 1/2 more hours before I decided to get the epidural. Contractions were about every minute and very strong. I was also having cluster contractions as well. So after the epidural they checked me and I was 5cm but fully effaced. After they gave me the epidural my labor started to stall and I wouldn't progress past 5cm. So we had to do a c- section. Also come to find out the position of her head wouldn't have fit through the birth canal. But Olivia is very healthy and that is all that matters. I'm sore but I'll heal. Just glad to have her home with us finally!!
