Hailianna Rayne Altland's Birth Story

Dr decided to induce,came in evening b4 and they stuck a cath in my cervix to dilate my cervix(balloon with water on both sides) and a slow start on oxytocin,started at 5pm the 26th...gradual increase of oxytocin and nurse tugged on cath. and out it came.Out cath. came at 4am and that meant i was at least 4cm and got checked n said i was a five a couple min. later...increase in oxytocin every couple hours and at 9 am i was a 5-6 cm and then at 10:25 am residents came to brake water as planned but 2min b4 they opened door my water broke on its own and it was hell from there on out.I did try an epidural around 5 cm but knew from my sons birth it probably wouldnt work due to having scoliosis ... left him try twice and he was causing severe pain on right side and said that wasnt normal and i was contracting very hard as it was and was in so much pain.Shane held me the whole time(hes scared of needles). So no epidural know iv medication...nothing...i did try a ball on bed and hung on hubby for awhile...once my water broke they had me get into bed and my contractions where still coming at every min or so and I was screaming and said i needed to push but was not dilated enof and they said i cud cause problems for baby or I (life threatening? is what she said) but after two of saying no pushing and 3-4 of coached she was out. I did tare but not like i did with my son, i had tore up at urine area due to a cath in and front to back with him,her they said just second degree this time. I was so tired once she was here that when they handed her to me i held her n i said hi and gave her a kiss and had to ask shane to take her bc i was shaking so bad( i had not slept at all for two days prior ) and then 6 days in the nicu as a precaution...finally home on the 1st,thank god...still no sleep tho...see her red hair...just like dad

	Comment from Layne-Shane » Posted Nov. 15, 2012 8:35pm i forgot to add i have stitches from a second degree tare ( i had third and forth with son) but they are mostly up inside...i swear for my next child (if i have another) im making them do a c section bc not being able to have pain relief is very bad and not good on ur mind when u stress for months knowing theres no other option,only bad of c section would be id need to be put under since they cant do epidural so everyone see baby b4 me
