Sierra CheyEnne's Birth Story

I started having contractions at around 4PM, after a day of making snowmen with Rob (: At 6 we opened our xmas eve presents and I was starting to think I was in labor.
At 9:15 my water went POP and it started to leak slowly, so we called the midwife and she told us to call her back when my contractions were regular about 4 minutes apart (they were 2 to 7 minutes sporadic.) As soon as we hung up things CHANGED.
They were instantly more intense and right on top of each other. I spent about 40 minutes of hell in the bathroom, then finally tried to lay down in bed.
As soon as I laid down, I immediately had to get up and start pushing - WOAH TOO FAST! Rob was still out in the kitchen getting things ready for the long haul of labor, we thought we were in for it all night - everyone says first time moms labor for like 15+ hours and push for 2 hours! But nooooooo!

10 minutes of pushing later, she FELL out right onto the bed!

Our midwife of course couldn't make it (by the way, this was a planned homebirth.)
So we were told to call 911. 5 firefighters and two paramedics - NONE of which had witnessed a birth - got here about 4 minutes before baby came out, none of them touched me or helped in any way, just stood around the bed and waited.

So I delivered her ALL BY MYSELF (: And Im DAM PROUD OF MY SELF!!!

After we cut the cord they took us to the hospital to get checked out, was fun riding in an ambulance, funny to see flashing firetruck outside our house (the landlord next door came over all freaked out haha.) My mom happened to show up JUST as they were loading me up, sucks she missed the birth but no one could have made it.

Once at the hospital I got stitched up and then discharged, 2 hours later we were back home!

Rob held her as I took a shower then we spent the rest of the night not sleeping (: She makes SO much noise in her sleep!
