Isaac Joseph's Birth Story

Had contractions on and off for 3 days before labour truly started so I was exhausted before it began. Went to my ob on the 5th Feb who stripped the membranes and gave me panadeine forte to go home and get some sleep. Could not sleep through the pain as it intensified a lot after the membrane strip. That was about 11am.

Went into hospital about 2.30pm. Was hooked up to monitors and was told my severe pain was yet "Mild". Had a bath in a nice big tub which helped greatly but also slowed the contractions so I got sent up to maternity ward for the night instead of staying in delivery.

Waters broke at 3am and was sent back down to delivery. Pain was out of this world! Was asking for my epi, which was delivered about 5.30am. Had gas until then but it didn't do a lot.

Around 7am I was checked and given the go ahead to start pushing soon. Ob arrived about 8.30am and pushing began. Got to watch with a mirror.

Got 4 stitches in total and 1st degree tearing.
