25 weeks & a hospital stay

Well, I missed my 24 week post because Nugget literally put me in the hospital! I was standing in the kitchen at the toaster Monday morning when baby kicked me HARD in the spine. My knees immediately went out from under me and I luckily caught myself on the counter in front of me. The pain was completely indescribable so I hobbled back to bed and stayed there. About 7pm the pain in my back was just getting worse and worse. I had chalked it up to the baby kicking me in the sciatic nerve or something but this was getting out of control no matter how I laid, sat, stretched, etc. and I couldn't stand up straight. DH and my mom talked me into calling the doctor who sent me to the ER.
Since I can't have an xray or anything, they ended up guessing that Nugget blasted me right in my herniated disc near my lower back. I spent the night and half of yesterday in the hospital trying to get the pain under control and for the doctors to figure out what to do about it. They eventually decided to send me home on indefinite bed rest with Norco and set me up with a prenatal chiropractor. That was all fine and dandy, so I came home yesterday afternoon ready to sleep the day away until my ultrasound this morning.
Well...baby had other plans! I started throwing up about 6pm and my face swelled up and was covered in hives. Another allergic reaction! Yippee! Doctor on call sent me in some suppositories to the pharmacy that DH picked up for me. Kept vomiting until 2:30AM and then somehow managed to pass out until 6 and got up to get ready for the doctor visit. Choked down a cracker, benedryl, and took a shower...luckily managed not to get sick again.
Then we were off to the long-awaited 3rd attempt to find out Nugget's gender! The technician tried to finish up our anatomical survey also since this baby is so completely uncooperative, lol. She STILL didn't get it all done so we have another scan on December 21st. Good thing too since Nugget crossed their legs yet again!!!!! >< The tech would have kept going trying to find the sex out but I was just so sick that I couldn't tolerate laying down or having the wand pushing on me anymore. Hopefully try number 4 will show us what Nugget is exactly, otherwise it looks like we're having a gender neutral baby shower in February!
I love my little Nugget, but I hope the ultrasound tech was right when she told me today that a rough pregnancy means you'll have a great, perfect baby after it's born! haha
