Scary appt. with the Midwife... :(

We had our 12 week appt with the midwife yesterday. Went in there super excited and happy to almost be done with the first trimester, laid down on the bed so that she could see how things are progressing with the baby, so she felt where my uterus was and looked really concerned.. She said that my uterus was almost up to my belly button already and usually this early in pregnancy its still down towards the pelvic bone area.. Assuming I knew what that meant, I still had to ask. She said that she was thinking either it was multiples or we were a lot further along than we thought. The thought of multiples FREAKED ME OUT!! Especially being that twins run in my family. 2 newborns with a 1.5 yr old running around the house at the same time=CHAOS!! So, she was gonna listen to the heartbeat and see if how many there were and she couldn't even find one! So now I was freaking out even more.. She told me not to worry about not hearing the heartbeat because the baby(ies) could just be hiding behind my pubic bone, which would prevent her from hearing the heartbeat(s). But, of course, I there was no way that I couple possibly not worry about this. So she ordered an ultrasound and luckily we got in right away!! It seemed like it took forever for the doctor to get into the room, but when he finally did, we learned that there is only 1 little babe in there and that he is doing just fine!! Thank God!! And we got to see our little bean wiggle around while we were looking at him :) It made me feel so much better to see him move around in there.
Well, now that I've written a novel.. It's time to go, I just needed to vent about it a little bit. :)
