First prenatal appointment tomorrow!
By Kimmiecat » Posted Dec. 5, 2012 10:05pm - 236 views - 0 comments
I have my first prenatal appointment tomorrow! Its mostly to introduce myself to the OB/GYN and ask questions. This is my first pregnancy, and I have so many questions! The internet is great and all, but there's so much conflicting information and I don't have time to go read all the research in its original form. I'd rather have a reliable source like a doctor do the legwork for me.
Important questions:
1. Sleep. I am exhausted all the time. I know this part is normal, but I fall asleep well and I just can't stay asleep. I go to bed around 930 and sleep until midnight or 1. Then I'm up hourly after that. Its awful.
2. Food. What to eat/what not to eat. The internet is pretty conflicted.
3. Work hazards. Is sevoflourane really that hazardous for babies? I knew women at school that wore these crazy respirators around any anesthetic procedures, but I also know plenty of vets that took no precautions and had no problems. What about xrays? Wear the lead suit or just avoid altogether?
4. Book recommendations.
5. Can my husband come to the Dec 31 ultrasound. I haven't seen men with their wives at this practice last time I was here, but I'd like him with me for it.
6. I'd like some Rx prenatal vitamins.
Anything else I should ask?
