Completely frustrated!

I am really feel silly every time I end up in L&D and they send me home saying what ever is happening is not changing my cervix. This irritable uterus is very frustrating. I really wish there was a distinct difference between it just being irritable and real labour but unfortunately there really isn't. So I either ignore it or go in to get checked. Which is what my Dr suggested to do. But who wants to sit in there for hours on end just to be sent home? I just feel bad that I am taking up a room for a woman that may actually need it, even it is a good idea to just be checked. So frustrating.
