so i have been looking online for second hand baby monitors with sensor mats. the baby will be in my room at the start but will then move to the floor under me. also being on my own i need to have the monitor with me if i leave the baby asleep for a shower or washing or something. i have seen them for a LOT less then buying them from the shop. on the weekend i looked again. i hadnt actually looked since being pregnant! i found a cheap one and its the latest model for only $30! thats the cheapest i have ever seen one. so anyways i realised it had been advertised for a while so i had the feeling it would be gone.... but it was still for sale. it wasnt far from home so i went to see it this afternoon. the sensor mat works, it has all the features of a normal monitor, night light, temp etc. so stoked!!! yew! you can have all the good stuff without breaking the bank. so exciting!!!

That's so good! I was lucky to get given Isaac's from the in laws but would definitely recommend the monitors!

Haha Memi thats so funny. I know i will struggle so much to part with him and put him down in his room, but hopefully *crosses fingers and toes* i can do it. lol
the sensor mats are fantastic, they alarm if there has been no movement for 20 seconds. they sense even the lightest of breaths. The only bad thing is a false alarm can wake bubs! its such peace of mind though, esp in the really early stages when you just want to check on them every 5 minutes!!! they come in angel care and tommee tippee i know of. they angel care sell in stores for $400 here and Tommee tippee sell for $300 here, so if you can pick up a second hand one you can save a fortune! Good luck. if its something yo u're interested in i hope you find one :) xx

Kossgirl, have you tired looking at Burlington coat factory? They have a nice baby section and a few maternity clothes. I saw some jeans for $19.99 the other day. Lozie, I havent heard of a monitor with a mat but I will definitely be looking into that! I know how hard it is to move the baby into the other room. For some reason, they always find a way to get in the bed with you. I'm going to wish you good luck on getting the baby in their own room now LOL

yeh i totally understand not wanting to spend a fortune on short term clothes. i guess if you get some solid basics that last the whole pregnancy you're pretty set. a few sets of maternity tops, some stretch band jeans. then its just something here and there if you need something fancy. Mother hood is great, they have some great sales! and cheap or free shipping :) ive gotten a few tops form there and some jeans. great prices. let me know if you do come across other bargain clothes places :) good luck x

Yea I live in the states. I have a lot of baby stuff from my daughter. But I am pregnant this time in a totally different season; thats why I need some maternity clothes. Cheap ones too! I hate spending money on maternity clothes that u r in for such a short amount of time.

where abouts are you? im struggling to find good clothes cheap, but in terms of baby gear, if youre in the states i'd try craigs list. australia gumtree. theres lots of crap, but if youre not in a rush you will find fantastic bargains!!!
