Midwife appointment

Finally got my midwifes appointment for Friday. Going to be 9 weeks 5 days then. I wonder if she will attempt to listen to heartbeat or if she will wait till next time as it probably too early to hear it still.
My pregnancy symptoms that seemed to be disappearing at the end of last week came back with a vengeance at the weekend. Actually feel quite rough which isn't nice. Oh well gotta take all the good and bad that come with being pregnant eh.

Comment from shannonbpowers » Posted Feb. 11, 2013 7:40am The midwives here don't listen to the heartbeat usually, from what I am gathering. I'm American/British and my partner is in the US Air Force and the way they do things in America are completely different. 9 weeks is not too early to hear a heartbeat (little bub's heart's been beating for 3 weeks by then!) but they don't usually listen to it at the first midwife appointment. They collect family medical histories from you and your partner and give you hand held notes. I only know because my friend has just had a baby and went through this all last year. I wish they did check the heartbeat though... would put all our minds at ease, eh? I have been having really bad morning sickness since the weekend. It's not nice. Before that, just really bad floods of nausea... but no sickness. It's all changed. I'm in week 7. I won't see the midwife til week 10. Hope you have a great midwife appointment on Friday! |
