Lucky Symptoms

Okay, there I was sitting in the doctors office on the table of my 8 week ultrasound. I've have little to no symptoms at all and am preparing myself for the worst. Finally the doctor comes in, does an internal exam and finally gets to the big show. As soon as the picture comes up on the screen I let out this huge gasp. I turn to look at my husband, who just thinks I'm having a moment, he's smiling. He has no idea. I look at the doctor for the clarification and she goes, "so you see what i see?". I turn back to my husband, "do you know what that is?!....it's TWINS!". At that moment we both fell silent. I was too stunned at the news to look for heartbeats. The doctor, who is much calmer than we, goes to each and finds heartbeats on both. We're pretty certain they're fraternal since the membrane is so think between them. I am stunned, "But I've had no symptoms." The doctor said that they may come later, but if i haven't had any by now, it's likely i won't get any at all.
So the moral of the story. You hear it all and as a mother you worry about everything. Every symptom, or lack of them. The twinges in your belly. Anything. And while I'm not saying they don't mean anything, the lack of them also don't mean anything. I should be having two times the amount of nausea, my boobs should be on lock down and my sleep cycle should be 10 hrs a day. I have none. My boobs are big for sure, but they don't hurt. I sleep 8 hrs a night, get up for a run or a workout of some kind and work for 8-9hrs a day. I read questions all the time about the worry of the lack of symptoms. I use to be one of them! Of course, there are instances of the unfortunate, but don't rush to any conclusions. It could happen. You could just be....lucky.
