Started out with a sore throat 30th of June....progressed to full upper respiratory tract infection by the end of the week which has persisted for another week... Been sick for nearly 2 weeks! Ears constantly blocked, blocked sinuses... Limited options for symptomatic relief.. Panado, salex nose rinse, I prescribed my own antibiotics after a week of being sick but only father-in-lw agreed. Saw GP last week just before the public holiday for sick certificate as I had already missed two days of work. He said I could drink prospan cough mixture, which I did with a bit of trepidation, only at night, but it has helped me to sleep after 6 nights of very little sleep (between my blocked nose and cough (and restless toddler). ( looked up prospan in terms of safety but conflicting articles, suppose the verdict is still out). Dreamt last night I'm so extremely thirsty and drinking water but not tasting it (in my dream), even rubbing it with my finger to my dry palate, yet no relief, then I eventually wake up to realize I had been dreaming, but was so thirsty! Very dry mouth from mouth breathing due to my nose being so blocked. Eventually drixine helped (which I've also tried to limit to night time only).. Going for my first scan tomorrow... Wondering if we will see a heartbeat or an empty embrionic sac? Have only told selected persons of this pregnancy till I've had the scan. Other than a bit of breast tenderness, no pregnancy symptoms, while with my 2 year old, I had had nausea from half way into week 5...
