Test Line is Getting Lighter! :(
By heartberry » Posted Sep. 12, 2015 1:11pm - 406 views - 5 comments

I had my first blood draw on Friday morning and it was a positive with an hcg level of 104. Then I had some light discharge yesterday (brown) and now my pregnancy test lines are gradually getting lighter. I'm so scared again! I was so comforted by the reassuring comments from some women on my previous journal entry but now I need reassurance that lighter lines are normal. I feel sick about possibly losing this baby (or babies)! I've had 2 miscarriages already but this is our first IVF and the only one we can afford. I'm turning 40 in Nov. This is it for us. Help! I have another blood draw tomorrow morning but is it normal for the lines to be lighter sometimes?

Well, I'm bleeding red now. Pretty sure I'll be receiving bad news tomorrow. I suppose I'm pretty used to it by now. Although my heart is still breaking just as much.

I'm taking them at FMU every day. They got darker each morning until this morning.

Are you only taking them with fmu? Or are you doing more than one hpt a day at different times? If you test at the same time everyday, with the same brand test, they should progressively get darker. If you are testing more than once a day your urine gets less concentrated which can give you lighter lines. If you look my name up on ctp I took pics of my unsuccessful and succesful ivf hpts. With my successful pregnancy they got darker each day or 2 from 5dpt to about 14dpt and then stayed about the same but they didn't get lighter.

Hi tmhess, I updated my journal entry to explain that I have a blood draw tomorrow. I'm just so sickened by this right now and I have a wedding to go to in a couple hours that I'm going to have the hardest time smiling or being social at.

I am sorry you are going through this. :( Could you call your doctor and tell them about the spotting so they can draw another blood HCG? That would be more definitive than the HPT. Prayers for you that baby sticks!
