So I thought I would check out meetup.com again since new groups are always appearing on there. Found a group and got all excited. People with social anxiety too that are wanting to meet for weekly coffees and hopefully make friends. All the members are over 40 :( Is it so bad I want friends in the same age area as me? Is it so bad I want to have someone to go shopping with and actually have an interest in nail art too? All I end up being able to keep as friends are guys and now I feel so distant from them. We still talk, they didn't cut me off like most women did surprisingly when I became a mom. But they are ALL musicians also working full time jobs so I never see them due to not being able to go to the bar with them or go hang at their house while they work at music. I don't want to go meet new guys to hang out with. I seem to be at a stage where men are more interested in stealing me from my husband than actually being friends. Why do I have to have such crap luck?! My ONE girl friend lives an hour away and has her own toddler. I was so excited when I saw that meet up. I highly doubt I will be able to talk to people getting close to retiring. Our interests would be way to different, especially life situations :(
