Suddenly measuring small and a follow up ultrasound scheduled. Anyone else have this happen?

I had my first dilation check yesterday. I am dilated 1 cm and baby has dropped. However, my doc said that my belly was measuring a little small this week so she wanted to schedule an ultrasound to check my amniotic fluid. I asked her if I should be concerned and she said that her gut feeling was that the measurement was inaccurate because the baby has dropped and that's all. She said they just wanted to schedule an ultrasound just to make sure that there hasn't been a decrease in amniotic fluid and it's a good excuse to get to see the baby again. I'm honestly not "worried", but the lab can't get me in for an ultrasound until January 5th and that's a little irritating just in case there was something wrong. Has anyone else measured small this late in the game after the baby dropped? This didn't happen with my last pregnancy but then I can't remember if he dropped this early.
