Blown

Well, this is a first. I had blood drawn from my arm at the Midwife appointment... well, yesterday, I discovered that the vein ruptured after the fact resulting in a rather interesting bruise. It doesn't really hurt or anything, but now it twinges when I try to lift anything with that arm that's heavier than a book.

What really sucks is that this happens to be my dominant arm, meaning I'm constantly aggravating it without realising.

I've donated blood many times in my life, I've never had this happen to me until now. I'm fairly confident it has something to do with just being pregnant, as the one who drew the blood was surprisingly skilled at it - I barely felt it. I'm going to have to remember to let them know about this in the future if they ever need to do it again.

Elevated blood pressure at the time cause also cause it to blow. I know all to well lol. With my daughter they blew 4 veins! In 10 minutes! Remember to keep hydrated and try to relax.
