Our BIG Gender Reveal...

Today was quite a day...Hubs and I had our scan appointment with the sonographer and later on our first official midwife appointment.
Well...unfortunately for us we had to pay for our scan from our pocket....as the lady didn't take medical aid...funny enough when I booked and I told them I'm on medical aid I was told it's fine to come through...what a shock. Anyways not a train smash...we paid and waited for our turn. Luckily it wasn't too full today.
THEN our turn came up...and I was indeed nervous because we wanted to do the scan to find out the sex of the baby...the suspense was just killing me and I couldn't hold it any longer. So I jumped onto the bed and the sonographer lady started "working"....little did I know I have a shy and very private baby! It was not easy to see anything...I was a little disappointed. But the lady kept on looking. The baby was active...too active! I measured a week ahead...+/- 16 weeks and 5 days...instead of the 16 weeks I thought I was at. Anyways no biggie for us.
So we looked and looked....and I wanted a 4D as well...tried getting a glimpse of what the baby will look like...nope the baby didn't want us to see the face, the privates...it was just wayyyy shy and hide like everything from us. BUT we managed to see (or at least the sonographer....) the gender....and it's a little girl in there!!!!! Explains why she was hiding...girls are so private!!!!!!!!
I was happy! Hubs wanted a boy but he seemed okay with the news. Said as long as our baby girl was healthy.
It's too early to have had a complete anomaly scan so I have to get another scan in about 3 weeks time. But as it stands the sonographer is convinced that we are having a girl! *PINK GALORE*
Then afterwards we met up with my midwife. What a lovely lady...I'm happy with her. She measured my tummy...and she said I'm a lil over 17 weeks and not the 16 I was told from my previous gynae....well....I dunno....I'm not a doctor. We'll see as we continue on this journey. We listened to the heart beat and it measured at 148bpm and she was happy overall. My blood pressure is super fine. So I'm relaxed. Our lil girl weighs about 172grams...well...she's a big baby....well...even with my first...he was big. So I'm not counting on giving birth to a 2.5kg baby....she's gonna be over 3kilos...God give me strength!
