Here I am Again...

After testing to rule out a pregnancy because of my job I've found out I'm pregnant again.

That would make pregnancy number 3 since moving to the US and marrying my husband. I pray, this time, the baby sticks, after loosing two pregnancies in a year, hopefully third time lucky for us.

DH isn't too enthralled, he worries about me and is convinced that if we loose this one he will have a vasectomy in order to prevent us from going through the pain of miscarriage again..He says he won't accept it until I'm past the danger time and everything is ok, but he won't let me see a doc til i'm at least 8 weeks!! I can't blame him, as the two miscarriages have cost us around $4,000 in total and we are still trying very hard to pay it off :( With numerous scans and blood tests like the last 2 times as I am automatically high risk, he's just trying to cut some costs I guess. My head worries though, and that will worsen with time due to having 2 missed miscarriages where you have no idea at all anything is wrong until the scan says otherwise... I shouldn't be so pessimistic I know, but I can't wrap my head around the fact I'm 42 and probably far too old to have even given thought to having one more baby without fertility help etc.

So..for the time being all I can do is pee on a stick maybe twice a week and hope and pray everything goes ok, until i can see a doc sometime between 8 and 12 weeks..i guess that will take us to the run up to christmas.. That would be a wonderful christmas present to find a sticky healthy bean in there :)

Congratulations on your pregnancy!! Yes, really try to remain positive.
What I did/do: read "vintage wine" storeies on this site and other sites of women who gave birth in their 40s. It's helped me tremendously. Sure I still worried/sometimes worry now, but I try to drink lots of water, eat lots of nutritous foods, keep up with sleep and steer clear of stressful people/situations. And I add some fun in on a regular basis (I love watching the old sitcom "Friends" on a daily basis). These things &/or others may help you get through. Each day that passes is a success :).

Please try and remain positive about this pregnancy. I've been right were you are I had one chemical and two missed miscarriages prior to welcoming my son in November. Just keeping thinking with every week you are one step closer. Congratulations on your pregnancy!
