My Journal

Reached 18 weeks

It's been a week of sickness. On Wednesday I woke up with phlegm impeding my vocal chords. Fortunately that lasted for only an hour. However, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and today my voice is somewhere between gravelly and gone. I didn't really feel like updating CMP with my complaints, so I've waited to post. Also, this and CTP are seemingly on the fritz. This morning I tried to upload a picture we took of the bump last night. I can only see an X. Therefore, I will be waiting until the website is working better to decide if I chose the correct picture and set it to public. Glad to be at 18 weeks! We're at my in-laws house for the weekend. I took a little trip to the mall with my husband yesterday. We bought him some jeans and a new wallet. He's not big on shopping. It was nice to get him some things he actually wanted and could use. Also, I got an assorted box of Sees chocolates to celebrate the holiday. Kind of fun. Later my MIL and I took a knife to them, so we could identify the contents of each chocolate. I'm not good with surprises. Hehehe. Anyway, I asked to go to a nice restaurant on the waterfront after the mall. DH and I sat in the bar, so we wouldn't have to wait 20 minutes to be seated. The bartenders were a little slow taking our order, but it was pleasant enough. I got DH talking about NCAA basketball and other college sport rules because there were games playing on the flatscreen in front of our barstools. All in all, we had a great time. I had delicious crab and corn chowder with Caesar salad and flatbread. Mmm. We got back to the in-laws house, where I broke open the aforementioned chocolates. I was suddenly really sleepy before dinner, but was able to pull myself together to visit some and then played Dance Central for Xbox One. I've still got moves, even with this belly! We let DH's parents put our kid to bed and watched Sherlock on Netflix before retiring. Nothing very romantic about our day, but it was nice to have help with DS and an opportunity to go out during the afternoon.

We call toddlers human Petri dishes at work. DS is always bringing home the latest virus. I was impressed that I remained cold-free during my whole first trimester. Dancing is really fun for me. Most evenings I don't have the energy. Glad I mustered up enough to play last night.

Ugggh! Sorry about your sickness, hun. BUT, sounds like you had a great time despite your voice! Glad you were able to relax & spend time with hubby & get your dance moves on =).
