Yesterday was my first visit this pregnancy with Dr. Maggard. I was so scared something would be wrong. The nurse didnanurine test, it was positive. They sent me for an ultrasound, which hurt like the dickens. The tech said she couldn't see anything and my heart sank. But, she said she thinks I am just super early. Meaning it is too soon to see anything on the ultrrasound just yet. Dr. M confirmed the techs suspicion when we talked. She said the uterine lining is really thick, and she didn't see any blood in the uterus. The only thing that concerned her is the little bit of blood in my urine, which may be implantation bleeding. She is putting me on progesterone, extra folic acid, and a blood thinning shot. She said "we'll throw everything but the kitchen sink at it and hopefully get you a baby". I have had 5 miscarriages. Praying that this one works out!
I went to rite aid last night to pick up my prescriptions. The blood thinning shots were $600! I couldn't believe it! But I got them. And hubby gave me a shot. That was an experience. Thats the most afraid I've ever been to get a shot â?º. But he hugged me after it was over and said " you did good" and i told him he did too!
So we are cautiously optimistic at this point. I am still spotting. But I have off work today and I'm gonna try to take it easy. I go back for my follow up hcg levels tomorrow. Hopefully they double like they are supposed to. Got a lot of people praying for us.

I was on Heparin and was shelling out a TON of money each month with my last and the insurance company actually told me a trick... google whatever drug you are on and coupon, like "Heparin Coupon" and there are lots of coupons out there to help save you money. I've had 4 m/c's in 12mths after seeing heartbeats and 3 d&c surgeries so I know what your going through. If I can give you hope I'm almost getting to half way through my pregnancy and it's great. You and your doctor are certainly doing all you can with the blood thinners & progesterone. I'll look forward to a great success story from you this time xx |
