24 week update and I need advice
By Kate0406 » Posted Oct. 16, 2015 9:59pm - 198 views - 4 comments

Yesterday was my OB check up at 24 weeks. I got my shots and took my glucose test. I didn't get a call today so I'm hoping that means I passed. I had a very busy week with Dr appointments and I have. Dentist appointment on Monday. I have had fluid or something in my ear it is really bothering me. I went to the Dr and saw a p.a (physician assistant) which was a complete A.H. and said there was no infection so I needed to stick it out or come back when I had a infection. No lie. Next time I will demand to see my DR. I have never seen such unprofessional in the Air Force. I even told him I'm having the same symptoms as when I DID have an infection. Needless to say I sat in the car crying because I felt defeated and I've been dealing with this for 5 days now. My ear hurts and feels like its got fluid or swollen. I figured if it gets worse I will just go to the ER. Today I don't know if it's gas pains or what.. I hope not contractions. I've had them before about a month ago. They are pains that come and go and they are low. Makes me feel like I've got to take a BM but I do nothing. This has been going on since yesterday afternoon. I just took some gasX to see if it helps.

So everything I've seen that I can take for a cold or congestion is a class C which worries me because I don't want to take anything that can harm baby but I'd like to see if I took something if it would help my ear. Any advice would be appreciated. Hope all is well.

Thanks Kitten. I thought seriously of talking to my husbands commander to see what we can do about the way I was treated. I shouldn't feel like i"m on trial when I'm trying to get help to feel better. and you don't tell a pregnant woman to "stick it out" you basically telling me to get over it and go home.

The instructions from my midwife office say Tylenol cold/flu is safe and also regular Sudafed... But everyone has their own comfort level with medications during pregnancy. Sorry to hear about the way you were treated, that is so unacceptable =(

We live one mile off of base.. My PCM is good. I should have made sure I was going to see him.and not anyone else.

I'm so sorry. Air Force medical people can sometimes be totally callous. I'm so glad we bought a house just too far away for me to be seen on base...
